For service technicians, work experience recommended should be at least 24 months and a senior level technician should have half a decade of work experience. A score level off 2.5 must be maintained with at least a credit in each course to receive certification. Most colleges require a high school diploma or GED to apply for an admission and for classes to become an HVAC technician. For two-year programs, ACT or SAT scores are not a criterion by a good number HVAC colleges.
